OverviewThe position of Zamboni Driver is responsible for the ice rink, proper safe operation of the ice resurfacer (Zamboni), and maintenance of all areas pertaining to and/or involved in maintaining a quality sheet of ice for a professional hockey team.6 ResponsibilitiesPerform general physical labor associated with setup and breakdown for events, i.e., ice installation, ice maintenance, glass repair, and rink repair. Make repairs as directed by the Operations Manager. Operate a forklift truck. Drive the Zamboni during hockey games, maintaining the ice to AHL and/or NCAA standards. Other duties as assignedQualificationsA strong communicator: be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format to management and staff as well as to all types of clientsOrganized, able to prioritize, and have strong time management skillsAble to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidaysAdvanced oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks. Attention to detail and service-oriented. Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the facility. Prior experience driving a Zamboni is required. Prior experience with ice maintenancePrevious facility operations experience is a plus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move heavy objects. The employee must be able to perform strenuous physical duties at times, including lifting, carrying, moving, and climbing. Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, stooping, lifting, and walking.
