About MLV DCMLV DC will compete as one of five expansion teams in the 2027 season and deliver women’s professional volleyball, one of the fastest growing sports, to the nation’s capital. Anchored in strong regional youth participation, abundant collegiate talent, and an avid local sports fanbase, the franchise will strengthen the major-league footprint of the District and cement it as the Sports Capital. All United Sports and Entertainment (AUSE), led by CEO Jason Levien, adds the team to its robust roster which also includes DC United and DC Power.
About the RoleThe Marketing Associate plays an active role to catapult an emerging brand into the local sports and entertainment landscape and national women’s sports ecosystem. To be successful in the role requires a nimble approach to draft and deliver content across marketing channels including email, social, website and online e-shop, paid, and partner. Key indicators of success include brand awareness, audience acquisition and retention, digital channel engagement, and ticket and merchandise sales. Reporting to the Team President, the Marketing Associate will work closely with team leadership, cross-functional colleagues within and across the broader AUSE organization, and league counterparts to deliver relevant marketing content for the team across all channels.
Responsibilities Include:Develop and be accountable for a year-round content calendar that includes brand building, tentpole announcements, promotional sales campaigns, and fan engagementManage all digital channels – inclusive of website, social, email, and paid media – drafting copy, procuring visual and creative assets, and publishing contentAbility to update digital graphics and publish timely website and social contentPartner with Creative Director and Communications Director for seamless storytelling and brand positioningBecome the expert and effectively engage with key stakeholders including all consumer audience segments, corporate and strategic partners, and other local pro sports teamsSupport local events and engagements with necessary branded materials and collateralManage paid, owned, and collateral marketing budget to monitor expenditures, report accurately, and process invoices in a timely manner Preferred Qualifications:2-3 years of marketing management experience in sports or live entertainmentExperience supporting holistic marketing plans that align with overall business goalsBasic design, editing, and publishing capabilities Proven track record of delivering measurable campaigns, promotions, and eventsUnderstanding of the DMV market and sports landscape as well as the women’s sports ecosystem that translates into fan engagement strategiesSelf motivated and proactive communicator with the ability to adeptly manage the flow of all relationships and workstreamsStrong organization and time management skills to meet near-term deliverables, stay on track with long-term plans, react to new opportunities, and anticipate challenges Service mentality delivered through high-touch stakeholder communicationEnthusiasm for creative thinking that translates into actionable plansNatural and dynamic sales, presentation, and communication skillsExcellent teammate who can collaborate without ego and be flexible to changeExperience working in a fast-paced startup environment with a high volume of tasks and deliverablesOther duties relevant to growing the businessAdditional Details:Based in Washington, DC working primarily out of Audi Field and home playing venueExpected to work all home matches and team eventsAbility to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays as requiredProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerAble to lift 15+ pounds at a timeLocal travel to events and meetingsMinimal out of market travel (<10%)We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
