POSITION OVERVIEW:Fenway Sports Group is building out its communications and content infrastructure, and this role is at the center of that effort. We are looking for a Social Media Coordinator to help stand up FSG’s social presence, establishing accounts, building an audience, and publishing content consistently across platforms.
This is an entry-level role with real ownership and impact. You will work closely with the editorial and communications leads to bring FSG’s stories, perspectives, and portfolio to life online, reaching fans, business leaders, and the broader sports ecosystem with content that is thoughtful, and built for how people consume social media today.
We are looking for someone who brings ideas, understands the platforms deeply, and is energized by the challenge of building an audience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Establish and manage FSG’s social media accounts across platforms including Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and others as the strategy developsPublish original content regularly across all active channels, maintaining consistency, voice, and qualityBuild and manage a content calendar in close collaboration with the editorial and communications teamTranslate business objectives and company narratives into storytelling opportunities suited for relevant social channelsMonitor social platforms for relevant conversations, trends, and emerging narratives, identifying opportunities in real timeSupport the creation of social media assets including graphics, short video clips, and formatted content in coordination with in-house design and production resourcesDevelop consistent platform reporting and bring data-informed insights to the team to drive overall communications strategyMaintain deep knowledge of industry trends across social media, evolving tactics for changing platform algorithms, content trends, and best practiceCollaborate with FSG properties and liaise with social and communications teams to amplify content and grow FSG’s cross-platform presenceAssist in translating editorial and thought leadership content into formats and copy suited to each platformCHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:At least one year of hands-on social media experience publishing and managing accounts for a brand, company, sports team, or media organization (not just personal accounts)Demonstrated ability to grow an audience and publish content consistently across multiple platformsStrong writing skills and a feel for copy that performs, concise, engaging, and platform-appropriateFluency across major social platforms including Meta, X, and LinkedInBasic design capabilities in Adobe Photoshop and Canva is preferredComfort with ambiguity and the pace of a fast-moving organization where adaptability is keyA collaborative, team-oriented approach to the work. This is a small team and everyone rolls up their sleevesGenuine enthusiasm for sports, sports business, or bothBased in Boston or willing to relocate.
