Somerset Patriots Broadcast & Media Relations AssistantThe Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees’ Double-A affiliate, are seeking a Broadcast & Media Relations Assistant to serve as one of the core member of the team's media relations, broadcast and social media operations. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Communications & Media Relations and the Manager of Media Relations & Broadcasting.
Time Frame / Work Schedule: (March 2026 – September 2026): Seasonal position begins in late March and concludes at the end of the regular season.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:Provide three innings of play-by-play for all 69+ Somerset Patriots home games, which are simulcast to both terrestrial radio and MLB.tv.
Execute post-game interview on-field following home games for in-stadium production, as well as TV and radio broadcast.
Assist in publication and distribution of all team media materials including press releases, lineup cards, box scores, stat packs, game notes and post-game notes.
Contribute daily to all Somerset Patriots social media channels with engaging graphics, video content and written features.
Execute assignments from social media calendar, creating and scheduling content on a daily basis.
Shoot, edit and produce pre-game interviews and other content to be aired on the Somerset Patriots pre-game show.
Live-tweet all home and road games.
Compile post-game notes for all home and road games.
Edit spots, billboards, re-joins, weekly podcasts and other content that will air on Somerset Patriots' radio flagship.
Ability to host pre- and post-game show as needed.
Assist in overseeing all aspects of MLB.tv production including staffing, scheduling, sponsorship fulfillment and content planning.
Publish press releases, post-game notes, written features, probable starting pitchers and other multimedia content to SomersetPatriots.com and the Somerset Patriots mobile app.
Work traditional office hours on road gamedays to prepare and publish media relations and social media content, in addition to live-tweeting.
Assist in logging and archiving photo and video database.
Assist local and national media outlets with team inquiries, credentialing, providing B-roll and other requests as necessary.
Manage quality control of press box operations.
Qualifications:Extensive prior experience in baseball play-by-playPublication software experience in Adobe InDesignVideo production experience in Adobe Premiere and/or Final Cut ProAudio production experience in Adobe AuditionGraphic design familiarity in Adobe PhotoshopExtensive knowledge and experience working with audio equipmentAbility to shoot and edit both photo and videoStrong understanding and enthusiasm for social media content creationProficiency and experience working in a live production settingStrong work ethic and attention to detailExcellent verbal and communication skillsStrong leadership, management, organizational and technical skillsExperience working with NewTek, Daktronics and Diamond software is a plusStrong baseball knowledge and knowledge of the New York Yankees is a plusCompensation: $1,000 per month stipend and an hourly rate of $15.92 per hour for remote work during all road games.
