POSITION SUMMARY:The Senior Accountant will be responsible for various tasks, including bookkeeping functions related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Accounting including maintenance of the accounting systems, adherence to established policies and procedures, review of documentation for appropriate authorization, timely notification of any problems or concerns and superior customer service. This is an important role in our organization that will require tact, diplomacy, and a professional approach to the job. Confidentiality is critical. To excel in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of accounting principles. As an organized professional with keen attention to detail, you should be dependable and capable of working independently and collaboratively and providing thought leadership. Your primary objective will be to ensure that the venue's accounting and financial processes align with the company's established standards, promoting accurate financial reporting and effective control. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be an integral part of the MMTH Fieldhouse team. Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably at a private company that generates $5M - $100M annual revenue. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Billing/invoicing/collection for multiple clients in accordance with contractual terms for work performed and reimbursable expenses, including compliance with all policies and proceduresUnderstanding of revenue recognition according to GAAPReconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accountsExperience maintaining general ledger accounts including posting of Journal EntriesExperience with month end closing proceduresEnsuring efficiency, accuracy and legal compliance of accounting recordsAnalyze financial performance and recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenuesPreparing documentation for external auditorsGeneral ledger coding credit card statement(s) according to policy and procedure and importing data into general ledgerOversight and approval of travel expense submissions for reimbursementVarious other accounting projects as directed by ControllerMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:An associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent business experience preferred as well as knowledge of accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Minimum of three (3) years of experience including general accounting, accounts receivables and payables, and month-end closeMicrosoft Dynamics 365 experience (preferred)Proficient with MS Office, intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skillsMust be extremely organized and detailed orientedAbility to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalismAbility to operate a calculator, computer, and other general office equipmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust have excellent interpersonal and customer service skillsMust be self-starting, energetic, and focusedSolid accounting experience combined with strong analytical skillsWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:Work environment is fast pacedMust be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds infrequentlyWork is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environmentTRAVEL DEMANDSOvernight travel to venue(s) will be required as needed
