Job Description
Public Relations & Social Media Coordinator The Syracuse Crunch are seeking a Public Relations & Social Media Coordinator to assist with the team’s marketing and digital media.
Responsibilities: Write press releases and feature storiesPerform game day media tasks including preparing the press box and assisting with postgame media interviewsAssist in the continual upkeep and design of the team’s official websiteAssist with set-up and follow through of player appearancesBrainstorm content for the team's official social media accounts including Meta properties (Facebook, Instagram), X (formerly Twitter) and TikTokExecute social media strategyTrack and report social media engagement numbers throughout the seasonWork closely with sponsorship to meet partner obligations on social mediaCreate and identify media opportunities to maximize local and national exposure for the organizationAssist in researching and compiling statistical information on the American Hockey League and Syracuse CrunchProvide excellent customer service to the Crunch fan base and general publicWork all home and away games, including preseason, regular season and playoffs, and events as necessary to assist with cutting highlights, sharing score updates, posting photos and writing game storiesPerform other duties as assigned Requirements: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or universityAt least one year of professional experience in social media management or marketingProficient in social media platforms such as Meta properties (Facebook, Instagram), X (formerly Twitter) and TikTokKnowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop is a plusStrong creative, organizational and interpersonal skillsUnderstanding of the rules of ice hockey; experience in sports preferred, but not necessaryTravel for game coverage when necessaryAbility to work independently while also collaborating in a team dynamicAvailable to work flexible hours including holidays, evenings and weekends.s
