Responsibilities: Independently and consistently ideating and executing on storytelling opportunities for social platforms.
benefits, events, and the SoCal golf community (including graphics, photos, and short-form videos captured on-site at courses and events). Plan, script, film and edit video/photo content tailored to golfers and various SCGA audiences. Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and social media best practices and advise Communications & Marketing department on how the organization can utilize evolving content and/or platforms for the benefit of brand awareness, marketing and/or community building. Manage and implement social media strategies, including creating a content calendar and scheduling posts to maintain consistent activity. Develop and execute social media tournament and event coverage. Management of social media activities, both on-site and remotely. Research, write, fact-check and proof short-form and long-form content. Responsible for interacting with followers and fostering community engagement.
Leverage creative, communication, and analytical skills to drive engagement and brand growth.
Manage SCGA’s website; regularly update it to keep content current and relevant; and write, edit, proofread, and update website copy and other content to be engaging, informative, and in alignment with best practices.
RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design or a related field, preferredMinimum of 2-4 years of experience in digital/social media or communications Experience with running brand-driven social media accounts Proficient knowledge of Instagram in its most current iteration Adept at making short form social media videos/reels using a smartphone or other company issued equipment (including Bluetooth microphones, lights) Proficient in knowledge in HubSpot or similar software Strong skills in graphic design and content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Suite) Experience or demonstrated interest in multimedia content creation Familiarity with digital accessibility standards Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative, with minimal oversight required from managementStrong attention to detail and organizational skills Proven ability to manage projects and meet established deadlines Must possess exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate and maintain working relationships with all stakeholders Must be highly organized, motivated and have a strong commitment to integrity, teamwork, and customer service to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environmentStrong organizational and decision-making skills and the ability to multi-task Experience with photography and videography, including on-course shooting and editing Strong work ethic, communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
