Job Description
The High Point Rockers are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Special Events Intern to join our team for the Summer Semester.
Responsibilities:Event Planning: Assist in the planning and coordination of special events, including but not limited to suite gatherings, various events, and fan appreciation activities.
Logistics Management: Work closely with the Events Manager to ensure all logistical aspects of events are well-coordinated, including venue setup, vendor coordination, and equipment logistics, and breakdown.
Fan Interaction: Interact with fans during events, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience. Collect feedback and suggestions to improve future events.
Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Events Manager, including but not limited to merchandise, inventory, game day operations, and communication with vendors.
Assist with Merchandise Operations:Support day-to-day merchandise operations, including inventory management, restocking, and organizing merchandise displays.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of merchandise stands during home games and events.
Customer Service:Interact with fans and customers to provide assistance, answer inquiries, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
Process transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems.
Sales Support:Actively promote merchandise sales by engaging with fans and showcasing featured products.
Implement sales strategies to maximize revenue and achieve sales goals.
Qualifications:Enrollment in a related field: Pursuing a degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams, vendors, and the public.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Team Player: A collaborative and positive attitude, with the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
Flexibility: Willingness to work long hours including nights, weekends, and holidays during all home games, select non-game days, and special events.
