Position Summary The Team Services Manager is central to supporting the day-to-day operations of assigned teams within the PWHL’s single-entity structure. Reporting to the Director, Team Hockey Operations, this role provides direct administrative and operational support on behalf of assigned teams, ensuring consistency, compliance, and efficiency across the League. The Manager partners closely with team personnel and cross-functional departments to streamline workflows, uphold League standards, and advance broader organizational goals.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport the Director, Team Hockey Operations as a central operational lead for assigned teams, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all administrative, logistical, and operational functions of the teams.
Foster strong relationships with all team staff and serve as the primary point of contact and problem-solver for Team Services, Hockey Operations, and Equipment Managers.
Support elements of team travel, including player per diems, rental agreements, and in-travel support as needs arise.
Provide administrative support within Teamworks Hub for assigned teams.
Oversee team-related invoice approvals and credit card expenses, ensuring timely processing, compliance, and budget adherence.
Manage the player per diem process through the League’s digital platform, including onboarding and management of player profiles, approval of team per diem requests, and seasonal projections to ensure proper financial allocations.
Liaise with Finance, Legal, and People & Culture departments to coordinate and execute key operational processes, including vendor onboarding, contractor management, hiring support, and rental agreements.
Ensure all team-related administrative processes are executed efficiently and in compliance with League standards.
Maintain and continuously improve organizational systems, including document management, filing structures, and SharePoint resources.
Ensure all team operations documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sport Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two or more years of experience in professional or elite-level sports team administration, operations, or a related role.
Demonstrated experience managing administrative processes such as vendor management, contract coordination, and expense approvals.
Proficiency with administrative and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teamworks, and financial management tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex information and provide clear follow-up across departments.
Strong understanding of organizational workflows and proven ability to manage cross-functional communication with multiple departments.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
Legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada.
Preferred QualificationsPrior experience working within a single-entity sports league structure.
Experience supporting teams or operations across the United States and Canada, including familiarity with cross-border travel logistics.
Hands-on experience with Teamworks Hub or comparable team operations platforms.
Experience supporting elite-level women’s sports or working in a startup, growth-stage, or rapidly evolving organization.
Flexibility & TravelComfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced professional sports environment that frequently requires non-traditional hours. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required, including cross-border travel between the United States and Canada.
