Position Profile: Director, Content & Marketing AnalyticsDepartment: Business Intelligence Reports to: Head of Strategy & Analytics Status: Full-timeWork Location: College Park, MD------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Position SummaryThe Washington Commanders are seeking a data-driven leader to join our organization as Director, Content & Marketing Analytics, with primary responsibility for leading analytics and insights across content performance, digital platforms, and marketing initiatives. This role will serve as the central analytics partner for Marketing, Content and Digital leadership, providing strategic insights that influence fan reach, engagement, acquisition, and long-term brand growth.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of digital content ecosystems, including social media platforms, owned-and-operated digital channels (web and mobile app), and performance marketing.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Executive SupportLead analytics initiatives in support of Marketing, Content, Digital, and Growth leadershipProvide data-driven insights to inform content strategy, channel prioritization, and marketing investment decisionsPartner with senior leadership on planning, goal-setting, and measurement frameworks tied to fan growth and engagementSupport long-term strategic initiatives related to brand expansion, digital transformation, and audience development------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Content Analytics (Social, Web, App)Own performance measurement and insights across social media platforms, team website, and mobile appAnalyze audience reach, engagement, consumption patterns, and platform-specific behaviors to inform content strategyEvaluate content effectiveness by format, platform, theme, and timing to optimize editorial planning and distributionDevelop audience growth and engagement dashboards that track performance against KPIs across channelsPartner with internal teams to design experiments and measure the impact of new content formats and features------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Marketing & Growth AnalyticsLead analytics for marketing campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channelsMeasure marketing effectiveness across the fan lifecycle, including awareness, acquisition, engagement, and retentionDevelop attribution and performance frameworks to optimize media mix and campaign returnsIdentify opportunities to improve conversion rates and fan lifetime valueProvide strategic and analytical support to international efforts (including Global Markets Program) and third-party events business------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Reporting, Insights & Data StrategyOwn executive dashboards and reporting frameworks that track content performance, digital engagement, and marketing KPIsEnsure insights are communicated in clear, compelling formats tailored to executive, marketing, and creative audiencesDrive continuous improvement in data quality, tracking, and measurement across digital platformsPartner with product, technology, and marketing operations teams to ensure accurate instrumentation and data integrationChampion best practices in experimentation, audience analytics, and data storytelling across the organization------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Marketing, Statistics, or a related field8–12+ years of progressive experience in analytics, strategy, business intelligence, or marketing analyticsDemonstrated experience supporting content, digital, or marketing functions in professional sports, media, entertainment, or consumer-facing organizationsDeep familiarity with social media analytics, web analytics, and mobile app measurement frameworksAdvanced proficiency with analytical, visualization, and AI tools (SQL, Python, R, Tableau/Power BI, CoPilot, Claude Code)Experience with digital analytics and marketing platforms (e.
