Essential Functions:Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for servicePrepare a variety of foods, meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold food itemsProperly labels and dates food items for storageStocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products to assure a smooth service periodKnows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and proceduresUse food preparation tools in accordance with manufactures instructionsClose the kitchen correctly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stationsMaintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times.
responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Executive Chef or ChefPrepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerancesMake sure all storage areas are tidy and all products are stored appropriatelyConstantly use safe and hygienic food handling practicesReturns dirty food preparation utensils to the appropriate areasKeeps workstation and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stockedUses waste control guidelines and records all waste on spoilage sheetUnderstand and maintain proper sanitation and food safetyAbides by all Company policies in the Human Resources Policies and Procedures, the Business Code of ConductOther duties as assignedExperience/Training/Education Requirements: Must be a minimum 18 years of ageHighschool Diploma or GEDAt least 1-year previous food service experience desiredMust be flexible, have a sense of urgency, be able to respond quickly and resourcefully to internal and external issuesWorking knowledge of food production techniques, purchasing, and sanitation proceduresExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to take tasks that are not clearly defined and appropriately define problem, propose and implement solutionsMust be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidaysLicense/Certificate:Serv Safe CertifiedA valid food handler’s card is required for this position. The company will cover the cost of the training and compensate employees for the time spent completing the course. The certification must be obtained within 30 days of the hire date.
