Position SummaryThe Head Coach will lead all aspects of team preparation, player development, and matchday performance for our USL League Two squad. This role is ideal for a leader who wants to operate in a professional environment and maximize a roster that already has a strong returning core. The Head Coach will also have the ability to bring their own coaching staff. Key ResponsibilitiesTraining and Match PreparationDesign and deliver purposeful, high level training sessionsImplement team tactics, style of play, and match strategyLead all matchday coaching, decision making, and sideline managementPrepare pre-match warmups and post match evaluationsPlayer DevelopmentProvide individualized coaching feedback and mentorshipConduct player evaluations and performance trackingPromote professionalism, accountability, and a growth mindsetScouting and RecruitmentEvaluate and supplement the returning roster as neededBuild relationships with college programs and player networksIdentify players who fit the Diablos culture and style of playTeam Leadership and EnvironmentSet the tone for a professional, competitive, and positive team cultureCoordinate with club leadership on roster logistics and season planningRepresent the club with professionalism on and off the fieldQualificationsLicensingPreferred licensing is a USSF C License or higher, or an internationally recognized equivalent. ExperienceCoaching experience at the collegiate, pre professional, or professional level preferredStrong understanding of modern tactics and player development principlesSkillsExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilitiesAbility to manage and develop college aged playersAbility to build culture, standards, and accountability within a teamCommitment and ScheduleTraining sessions 3 to 5 times per week from April through July or August, depending on postseasonAll home and away matches, including evenings and weekends. 12 regular season matchesPreseason planning and post season debrief activitiesPresence required in Denton for training and matches during the seasonOur USL League Two Schedule can be found here.
