WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOUSUMMARYThe Senior Manager, Analytics will be responsible for building durable data assets and analytical capabilities that enable smarter decision-making and long-term growth across the organization. This role focuses on developing the foundations—data, insights, frameworks, and operating models—that allow teams to better understand fans, customers, and business performance, and to activate that understanding consistently and at scale. This position will help establish a club-wide analytics center of excellence, embedding data into strategy, operations, and innovation while empowering teams to use insights independently and confidently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Build Scalable Data & Analytics AssetsDesign and evolve core analytics assets, including KPIs, metrics frameworks, data models, and insight productsEnsure data is structured, trusted, and reusable across use cases and teamsPartner with technology and data engineering teams to influence data architecture and accessibility Enable the Business with InsightsTranslate complex data into clear, actionable insights that support strategic and operational decisionsAct as a thought partner to leaders across the organization, helping shape questions, priorities, and measurement approachesShift analytics from reactive reporting to proactive insight generationCentre of Excellence LeadershipEstablish best practices for analytics, experimentation, forecasting, and performance measurementDefine standards for analysis, visualization, documentation, and governanceBuild repeatable processes that improve speed, quality, and consistency of insights Empower Teams & Self-ServiceEnable teams to use data effectively by developing dashboards, tools, and analytical educationBalance centralized expertise with decentralized usage—helping others answer their own questionsPromote data literacy and a shared understanding of key metrics across the organizationStrategy & Growth SupportSupport the development of organization-wide engagement and growth strategies through data-driven insightHelp evaluate new initiatives, pilot programs, and emerging areas of the business with clear success measuresIdentify patterns and opportunities across fan, customer, and operational data to inform future investment Team LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts and analytics managersSet clear expectations, growth paths, and performance standards for the teamFoster a culture of curiosity, rigor, and business impactQUALIFICATIONSKnowledge Areas/ExperienceRequired7–10+ years of experience in analytics, data strategy, or business intelligence3+ years of people management experienceStrong analytical foundation, including SQL and modern BI/analytics toolsDemonstrated ability to translate data into insight and influence decision-makingExperience working with complex, multi-source datasets CORE COMPETENCIESThese core competencies reflect the underlying values that are necessary to represent the National Hockey League:AccountabilityAdaptability Communication Critical ThinkingInclusionProfessionalismTeamwork & CollaborationThe NHL offers U.
